The New Democratic Party of Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to announce that the following people will be candidates in the next provincial election:
Gavin Will is the NDP candidate for Conception Bay East-Bell Island. Gavin is the owner of Boulder Books, an award-winning, innovative book publishing company based in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s. He is a volunteer with several community organizations, including the Lions Club and is the former Deputy Mayor of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s. Gavin and his partner, Amanda, are both longtime residents of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s.
Noel Joe will be the candidate in Fortune Bay-Cape La Hune. Noel is a strong advocate for indigenous youth and served two consecutive terms as Band Council member of the Miawpukek First Nation. He has also held various council positions both provincially and nationally. Noel maintains strong roots in his home community of Conne River while working for First Light.
“I’m excited to welcome Gavin Will and Noel Joe as candidates in the next election," says NDP Leader Alison Coffin. “Noel and Gavin bring genuine experience, both having served their communities in elected office in the past. They are outstanding additions to the NDP team.” Nominations for other districts will be announced in the coming weeks.
