NDP opens nominations in the district of Topsail-Paradise
The New Democratic Party of Newfoundland and Labrador announces the call for candidate nominations in the district of Topsail-Paradise.
Nominations open today, December 17, 2018 and will remain open until 12 noon on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Nomination papers must be submitted to NL NDP President Lynn Moore at info@nl.ndp.ca by the close of nominations.
Members interested in nominating a prospective candidate should send the name of the nominee, together with the written consent of the nominee, to Lynn Moore via info@nl.ndp.ca.
Meanwhile, interested candidates should contact the president at info@nl.ndp.ca to request the nomination forms and candidate questionnaire. The nominee will then be sent a nomination package.
Key Information
Any member of the NL NDP who is a resident of the district of Topsail-Paradise can nominate a prospective candidate.
Prospective candidates must be current Party members.
Should there be more than one person filing nomination papers by the closing date, a nomination meeting will be held in the district following the close of nominations. The time and location of the nomination meeting will be announced.
Only members of the NL NDP who are residents of the district are eligible to vote at the nomination meeting.
The district of Topsail-Paradise is now vacant as a result of the resignation of MHA Paul Davis. A date for the byelection has not been announced.
