We were saddened to hear of the sudden passing of George Murphy, a man filled with kindness, and compassion.
George made a memorable contribution to Newfoundland and Labrador politics and society - serving as an NDP MHA for 4 years. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
George loved Newfoundland and Labrador, and its people. For years he was dedicated to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards in NL advocating for youth programming. He was also a fierce defender of fairness and justice for everyone.
George was a magnet and drew people to him wherever he went.
We send deepest condolences to George’s wife Joy, their twins, his daughters, and everyone grieving his loss.
