Sheina Lerman

Sheina learned a major life lesson about inequity, when she realized it
wasn’t fair that boys had more freedom and choices than girls. She
became a feminist, although she didn’t know that word, at age 9.

Not many years later, she became an activist in the political and social
movements of the 1960’s. There was much to change and many people
believed the time had come to create a more equitable, diverse society.

An immigrant to Canada, Sheina is quick to say the decision to
permanently move to this country was the single best choice she made in
her life.

Sheina was hired as a contract instructor at the College of the North
Atlantic in 2000. She fell in love with this province and quickly felt
this place is home.

She is committed to doing her best as the NDP candidate in the District
of Humber-Gros Morne during Election 2021.

When not out campaigning, Sheina enjoys exploring the great outdoors
with her English springer spaniel, Bernie.

She, along with Bernie and three oversized house rabbits lead lives of
contentment in Deer Lake.
