Jim Gill

Fogo Island - Cape Freels

Jim Gill is from Newtown. Most recently, he worked at the Barbour Living Heritage Village located there. Jim obtained a degree in Economics and Political Science at Memorial University and then studied Business Management at the College of the North Atlantic. It was at the Grand Falls-Windsor campus of the College of the North Atlantic where Jim took his interest in current affairs to a new level. He became Student Council President and was the Campaigns Coordinator for the provincial component of the Canadian Federation of Students.

Jim moved to Ontario where he worked as an office coordinator and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Brampton Health Coalition. He returned home and has recently completed a Public Policy Analysis course from the London School of Economics. He is a big fan of traditional country music; especially George Jones.

He is looking forward to bringing a real choice to the people of Fogo Island - Cape Freels. A choice based on real solutions for everyday people.

Bill Blaikie, former Parliamentary Leader of the Federal NDP, said

“I am so pleased to hear that Jim Gill is running in Fogo Island - Cape
Freels.  Having worked with Jim in the past, I can say with confidence
that he would make a great MHA.”
