Dawn Lahey is a recently retired library worker. Throughout her 39-year career in the library sector Dawn was highly involved with her union, CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees). She has always been passionate about defending workers and endeavouring to make lives better.
Dawn’s activism ranged from the local union level to the provincial and national levels. She held positions with local and provincial executives and served on numerous union committees over the span of her career. Dawn was a union workshop facilitator for many years and engaged with the District Labour Council and the Federation of Labour.
Dawn is a lifetime supporter of the NDP and long-time party member. Having been involved with countless social justice campaigns over the years, her goal has been to improve our society by raising standards of living. Dawn is married with two children and four grandchildren.
