Kathleen Burt has a strong connection to the Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde electoral district as resident, community volunteer, and educator. She first moved to Old Perlican in 2002 where she lived with her family until 2010. After some time living on the Bonavista Peninsula while she worked at the College of the North Atlantic, she moved back to the Avalon. She and her husband purchased a home in Heart’s Content in the fall of 2017 so they could be near family living in the area.
Kathleen has been an active member of the NL New Democratic Party for 15 years and currently serving as the Membership Secretary on the provincial executive.
As an activist, Kathleen is passionate about democracy, education, and community development. She believes the NL NDP offers the people of our province the strongest voice for fairness and good decision-making. Kathleen wants to see renewed attention to the in-shore fishery which has sustained our province in the past, as well as to help communities in the Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde district make the best use of resources for economic development.
