Jason was born and raised in St. John’s. Apart from living a short time on the mainland, he has resided in the Mount Scio District.
Jason graduated from Booth Memorial high school in 1995. He attended Acadia University, before returning to St. John’s to continue his education at Memorial.
Following university, Jason worked as a personal care attendant, caring for a young man recovering from a serious brain injury.
He subsequently moved into a career as a financial advisor at a large financial institution. There, he developed a deep interest in investment analysis and enrolled in the CFA Institute’s Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM)program. He is now a CIPM candidate.
Jason is actively involved in the community. He volunteers regularly at The Gathering Place, helping serve great meals to the guests. He has also volunteered with projects that support Ronald McDonald House and the Community Food Sharing Association.
Jason played university football, basketball, and tennis and is now an avid runner. He is also a voracious reader, loves chess and plays guitar.
Jason believes that he won the lottery twice the day he was born. The first was being born into a loving family with two wonderful parents, Ross and Marilyn. The second was being born in this great Province. He is grateful for the opportunities this community has given him and is eager to work to make Mount Scio an even better place to live.
